In this Healthy Good Shopping program we will:

Discuss your health history and health goals (to see if what you are eating is appropriate for your health and to learn of any food sensitivities you may have).
Discuss your current food and beverage choices and what foods are currently in your home
Learn what makes a healthy food choice, healthy
Learn what food ingredients to avoid and why
Learn what foods are healthier substitutes for old standbys and how to write a healthy grocery shopping list
Learn how to navigate the aisles of your grocery store or local health food store
Learn how to read an ingredient label, how to decipher marketing claims and whether you should trust them for good nutrition advice
Discover sources of trans fat, MSG, sugar, genetically-engineered ingredients, among other food additives
Learn the difference between organic and non-organic, and the twelve most contaminated foods
Discuss the differences between shopping in a health food store and a traditional grocery store

If located in southern Connecticut we can experience healthy grocery shopping together! If choosing to do this program by phone I will lead you through the types of foods you will encounter and how to choose wisely.

*The charge for the above Healthy Grocery Shopping program is hourly since each individual's needs are different, and therefore time requirements vary. I've placed an estimated length of time below each description to assist you in the average length of time the program was designed to take. If the program runs over you will be charged accordingly.
